The corruption of the Roman church is not a run of bad popes; it is the predictable output of a machine assembled between 313 and 380 and never dismantled: a monopoly on salvation, operated in secrecy, protected by immunity. This Book is the forensic record of that machine running for seventeen centuries — the forged deeds and the forged decretals, the papacy sold for cash and won by families, the crusade that sacked the greatest Christian city on earth, the tribunal that billed its victims for their own confiscation, the bank whose chairman was found hanging under a London bridge, and the cover-up architecture that moved predators between parishes while the files sat in archives canon law itself requires to be kept secret. Where Book IV — The Overwrite proved the doctrinal rewrite, this Book proves the operational corruption, count by count, dated and sourced — and where popular myth overshoots (the Inquisition's "millions," the "kill them all" quote, the Taxa Camarae price list), we correct the myth and substitute the documented record, which is always worse, because it is real. The discipline is the weapon: every charge wears its evidentiary tier, every lurid legend we decline makes the convictions un-appealable. The verdict is structural, not tribal: wherever monopoly, secrecy, and immunity persist, this corruption is not a risk. It is the design.

2. Between 313 and 392 the church traded its independence for the empire's machinery — subsidies, courts, and enforcement — and the coercion began within that same century: compulsory belief (380), the first heresy executions (385), the temple destructions (391–92).
3. The institution ran forgery as a method, not an incident: the immunity doctrine (Symmachean forgeries, c. 501), the temporal deed (Donation of Constantine), and the legal foundation of papal supremacy (~100 Pseudo-Isidorian letters) were all manufactured, all absorbed into law, and all conceded as fakes by the Church's own scholarship.
